Come join Charles Jasper in an exploration of mindfulness-based
freestyle yoga placed within a Western context. Music,
conversation and awareness of breath will be our tools and
our companions
on a journey through our inward parts. Our goal is to read
the Law of the Spirit as it is written in our hearts.
We’ll gather
on Tuesday evenings to practice a Yoga based upon the mindfulness
traditions of Buddha in combination with other explorations.
Following Charles’ lead as a psychologist, we will also
create space for the Western mind, making yoga a base for happiness
throughout our lives. We’ll do this by reflecting on
carefully selected questions that are designed to bring fresh
views and descriptions of life into our hectic lives.
The program is donation based. All you have to bring is a
yoga mat, your curiosity, and your good intentions! Some yoga
experience is helpful, but not required.
Charles S. Jasper,
D.C., Ph.D. enjoys teaching people. He teaches
yoga to groups and individuals, has treated people as a chiropractor
in private practice over the last 20 years, and has worked
with many diverse groups of people in hospitals and institutions.
He is a licensed clinical psychologist. In addition, he has
maintained an active Vipassana meditation practice since
1988. His approach draws upon the mindfulness tradition of
Buddha, as well as personal training principles, to achieve
creative flow in the practice of a yoga that is suited for
the Western mind.
