 MenSpirit places a strong value on social and community building events,
as thresholds to greater participation in service and spiritual events.
When we know each other better, we do more. MenSpirit events include
monthly potluck dinners, the annual men's retreat, game nights, and outdoor
recreational events. MenSpirit also provides volunteers for all-church
events such as the after-service coffee hours, newcomers’ brunch
and membership class.
MenSpirit values a partnership with WomenSpirit. The two groups share
a variety of events every year including the church picnic, the pancake
breakfast, Maitri, and hosting meals for each other.

MenSpirit Retreat
MCCSF men gather each year at the beautiful and remote
Saratoga Springs Retreat Center. In 2004 Rev. Bill Gordon and Rev.
Dr. Rich Rossiter presented their successful SHAPE program
(Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality and Experience).

MenSpirit Monthly Potluck
These monthly potlucks are a combination of social and service
activities. The evenings begin with informal socializing and
sharing a meal; followed by a more structured discussion of
upcoming events led by men at the church.

Games Nights
We gather for an evening of food, fellowship and friendly
competition at an assortment of playing card and board games.
Past themes have included “Post Oscar Blues,” and “Games and
Dessert.”

MenSpirit Cultural “Outings”
MenSpirit has sponsored evenings at the theatre—“When Pigs
Fly” & “Love’s Labors Lost”—as well as at the San Francisco
Ballet and the San Francisco Opera.

MenSpirit White Elephant Holiday Party
Not only is this Holiday Potluck a great evening of community
building and holiday cheer, but the gift exchange is a great
excuse to get rid of that eyesore artwork or that chachka from
your Aunt Betty.

AIDS Memorial Grove
MenSpirit and the HIV+ Support Group gather for a day of
gardening, fellowship, and reflection as we memorialize those
who have been lost to the AIDS pandemic in this life-giving way.

MCCSF AIDS Quilt Panel
MenSpirit, along with a talented group of volunteers, created
an AIDS quilt panel to honor these individuals from our beloved
community who suffered so greatly and left us too soon. The
quilt is displayed with pride each World AIDS Day.

St. Patty’s Day Breakfast
MenSpirit and WomenSpirit co-sponsor this annual
All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast.

Homecoming Dance
MenSpirit and WomenSpirit also co-sponsor the annual
Homecoming Dance. This time you can bring the date you really
wanted to bring in high school!
