4. Return to Balance: WomenSpirit Equinox Service
Details: The Equinox is that time of year when the earth is at a unique point of balance. This happens two times each year, in the spring and the fall. Day and night are of equal length everywhere on the earth. The extremes found in nature during winter and summer have given way to moderation and balance. Our WomenSpirit community invites you to join us for a service that celebrates our return to balance. As we sing and celebrate together in a playful manner, we will be reminded of our quest for balance in the midst of often funny and provocative life experiences. Come and bear witness to one another's lives and hear one another's stories as we embrace the great need for balance in our lives.
Date: Friday, March 18, 7pm (MCCSF Sanctuary)
Contact: Tessie at tessville@aol.com for more information
5. Safety Monitors Needed for SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band Concert
Details: The SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band is giving a concert in Contra Costa county for the first time in a decade. Sadly, their local host, the Crockett Community Foundation, has received a homophobic hate call and their advertising banner has been vandalized. Through the years, the Band has provided a safety zone and positive focus for other groups at countless events. This time they ask friends of the Band to come to Crockett and join local volunteers as monitors around the building and parking area, greeting concert goers, and generally maintaining an atmosphere of safety that evening.
Date: Saturday, March 19, 8pm
Contact: If you can support the Freedom Band, please contact Jadine Louie, artistic director, at artisticdirector@sflgfb.org.
6. Children's Place Dedication Party

8. Heart Literacy Yoga Class

The practice is integrated with questions, ideas and dialogue that are carefully designed to create literacy of the heart. We’ll focus on reading the words of the Spirit as they are written in our inward parts. The program is donation based. All you have to bring is a yoga mat, your curiosity, and your good intentions! Some yoga experience would be helpful, but is not required.
Dates: Tuesday, March 22, 7-8:30pm
9. Baptism Class
Details: Baptism over the centuries has seen many transformations in the Christian tradition, and Baptism at MCC San Francisco has come to represent its own special meaning and symbolism. Some who attend MCC have never been baptized. It is not a requirement for participation here, yet many have expressed a desire to be baptized now as an expression of the transformation of their lives, or to be baptized again with a new name or as a symbol of a new identity or purpose – a recommitment to their spiritual connection to the Divine. To know more about what Baptism means, join our Baptism class during Holy Week, Wednesday, March 23 after the Taizé service. Should you choose, Baptisms will be performed on Easter Sunday.
