Overview

The Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco is a member congregation of MCC (Metropolitan Community Churches). Headquartered in West Hollywood, CA, the denomination is comprised of 350 churches and 20,000 members worldwide. It was founded in 1968 by the Rev. Troy Perry, Moderator. Find out more at www.mccchurch.org.

MCCSF is financially self-supported by the generous giving and faithful commitment of our members and friends as well as grant requests received, directly or through the Metropolitan Community Foundation, for social service programs we provide.

Congregational Meetings

In accordance to the MCC Bylaws, MCCSF has a congregational form of government--with a governing board of nine members and a moderator. MCCSF has three pastors, led by the Senior Minister, who is voted to tenure by the congregation. The Board acts on behalf of the congregation in planning and managing the finances, fundraising, property, personnel issues, and legal matters of the Church.

Each year a Congregational Meeting is held to conduct business, approve the budget for the coming year, elect members to the Board of Directors, and elect Lay Delegates to represent the Church at UFMCC District and General Conferences.
