Q Sangha

Q-Sangha Buddhist Sitting

Resumes January 7, 2008
Mondays at 7:00 pm

57 Hartford Street (In the heart of the Castro.)

Q Sangha is a community that practices Buddhism in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

As part of the MCC family, we meet on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Hartford Street Zen Center, 57 Hartford St. (between 17th and 18th Streets) for meditation and to share the challenges and fruits of practice. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious affiliation or meditation experience.

A typical evening includes 25 minutes of sitting meditation, 10 minutes of walking meditation, another brief sitting, a dharma talk, group discussion and singing. We frequently have guest speakers.

The "Q" in Q Sangha refers to Queer, which includes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Sangha is the Buddhist term of spiritual community.

Our practice helps us to be present and accepting and to calm our bodies and minds. From this place, it is easier to live with greater compassion, understanding and happiness.

We invite you to join us.
